The site before the build...
We'd like to extend a special thank you to our JML Forestry team for their excellent work managing the clearing operations of the Able job site in Heartwood. From marking and overseeing independent contractors to ensuring the project was completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule, your attention to detail and commitment made it possible for the new facility build to move forward seamlessly into the next phase.
A New Chapter: Heartwood
The new Able Medical Devices facility marks the beginning of Heartwood- a technology and innovation park, designed by Longyear to attract and grow forward-thinking businesses in Marquette.
The name "Heartwood" celebrates the local nickname for the area and honors JM Longyear's legacy in the forest products industry.
just as heartwood is the strong, resilient core of a tree, the park aims to serve as a foundation for companies that draw strength from the region's talent, natural beauty, and spirit of collaboration.
Located minutes from downtown and surrounded by trails and forests, Heartwood offers a unique blend of innovation and inspiration. JM Longyear envisions a community where companies like Able Medical Devices thrive through shared ideas and a strong connection to the environment.
